The City Is Invited To Vaisakhi Tomorrow
PRINCE GEORGE – Over the past week, volunteers have been working 15 hours a day preparing fried traditional Punjabi sweets and vegetable paddies. The food is being prepared in anticipation of Vaisakhi. The annual celebration of the birth of the Sikh religion will begin tomorrow at the Guru Nanak Darbar Temple. The parade will include Sikh martial arts and free food.
Although everyone is welcome, organizers do have some advice for those who want to attend:
“Out of respect, that we do ask that you cover your head, there will be bandanas available. So bandanas, scarves, we do ask no hats,” says Bally Bassi, Volunteer Organizer.
Parade Procession starts at 10:00 a.m. from the College Heights Sikh Temple on 4298 Davis Road and will stop at the CN Centre for announcements and displays.
