PRINCE GEORGE- Sixteen high school students from across the province and six from Alberta have travelled to Prince George this week, for a program that hopes to inspire the next generation of forestry workers. Adventures in Forestry and Environmental Studies is a unique experience to get hands-on training. The program is hosted by Yellowhead Rotary and other community partners. Students have toured local mills, reforestation sites, tree nurseries, and local post-secondary campuses. The hope is that the students will enrol in CNC or UNBC and work in the region. Since the program’s creation in 1989, instructors at CNC estimate about 4 students a year have gone through the Adventures in Forestry and Environmental Studies program.
