PG Civic Centre Goes From Sporty To Classy With New Floor Plan
PRINCE GEORGE – A new floor should be on the way for the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre.
The plan is to replace the existing floating maple wood-sprung flooring in the auditoriums of the building with carpeted flooring.
The flooring is being replaced due to wear and tear, but also because it is not being used for its original purpose. When the Prince George Civic Centre opened its doors in 1994 it was designed to serve as a multipurpose facility.
“So we’ve seen a significant drop in terms of the amount of recreation and sporting activity taking place in this venue, in fact, to date we’ve only had one recreational booking in this venue, since January 1st,” says Myles Tycholis, Manager of PG Conference and Civic Centre.
