Neighbours Frustrated As Hart Grows

PRINCE GEORGE – Neighbours in the Hart are concerned after the announcement of a new subdivision in what is currently green space. The new build will offer a mix of units for rent and sale. At City Council Monday night, neighbours didn’t hesitate to speak up in opposition.

The 66 unit subdivision is planned for the corner of Wood Valley Gate and Foothills Boulevard. Before construction can begin Kidd Real Estate Holdings needed City Council to rezone the property from Greenbelt to Multiple Residential. Five neighbours stood up at City Council against the development, conveying worries of whether the nearby Springwood Elementary School could handle an influx of students, and the overall change in layout the subdivision would bring to the community.

One neighbour, Jeremey Fedyk, lives directly across from the proposed build with his newborn baby.

“I think that’s going to make the fact that I bought a house where there was not as many houses, kind of moot. There is going to be a lot more people and that road is going to be a lot more busier, ” says Jeremy Fedyk, Neighbour.
