Firewood Permits Now Available Online

SMITHERS – Acquiring a permit to cut free firewood on Crown land can now be done online. The permit does not have an application fee or any charges for the wood.

Applicants must remember to carry the permit and any maps at all times, read and understand the conditions of the permit before signing it and be prepared to show the permit to a natural resource officer, conservation officer or peace officer upon request.

Firewood permit applications can be found on the BC government website.
