Staying Safe On Halloween
PRINCE GEORGE — Its the day many youngsters have been waiting for. Halloween celebrations are underway, and there is excitement as trick or treaters hit the streets to gather candy. With the sun setting earlier in the day, its important for motorists to be aware of more children on the streets.
Doug Mac Donald with ICBC encourages drivers to slow down and be patient with more pedestrians on the streets.
Even with the excitement its important for trick or treaters to follow the rules of the road, and not zigzag from house to house staying on the sidewalk or walking on the left side of the roadway facing traffic. Homeowners can help by lighting the way to their homes and offering a welcoming trip free environment.
Those out gathering treats should be mindful to have plenty of reflective elements so they are well seen by everyone.
