Prince George’s Unemployment Rate Drops

PRINCE GEORGE — Good news on the jobs front in Prince George.

The numbers for October are out and according to Statistics Canada, the unemployment rate has dropped year-over-year from 5.2 per cent in October 2017 to 4.8 per cent last month.

The participation rate in Prince George, or the percentage of people working, was 68.5 per cent.

Good news for the Cariboo too as the year-over-year unemployment rate fell from 5.9 per cent in October 2017 to 4.7 per cent last month.
