PRINCE GEORGE – Patients receiving dialysis at University Hospital of Northern BC got a special treat today. Members of the BC & Yukon branch of the Kidney Foundation of Canada were handing out special socks. Just over 200 pairs of socks will be distributed to dialysis patients in Prince George.

“Well most kidney patients are cold,” explains Paul Duperron, a kidney recipient himself. “I run cold and most kidney patients are cold, so when you sit here on dialysis for four hours, your feet get extra cold because you’re just not moving.”

The Provincial branch was able to buy 3,300 socks, thanks to a grant of $10,000.
