Serious injuries after early morning collision
PRINCE GEORGE- Saturday morning, at around 4:15 a.m. emergency services including frontline officers from the Prince George RCMP, responded to a report of a single vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 97 and Highway 16, within the City of Prince George. Alcohol was a factor in the incident.
All three female occupants of the full-size pick-up truck suffered serious injuries, one in critical condition. The driver, a 17-year-old Prince George resident, has been arrested for Impaired Driving Causing Bodily Harm.
A segment of the intersection was closed for most of the morning but has now been reopened to traffic in all directions. The investigation is in its beginning stages and is expected to take some time.
Two off-duty nurses were able to provide initial medical care to the occupants just after the collision occurred before emergency crews arrived.
