PRINCE GEORGE- Update: Prince George Fire Rescue says crews responded to today’s fire at 4:30 p.m. to find flames and smoke coming from one side of the duplex.

Assistant Fire Chief Thad Kennedy notes “a fast attack knocked the flames down and stopped the fire from spreading to the other side of the duplex.”

He says the occupants were home when the fire broke out but managed to escape without injury though two firefighters were checked for heat exhaustion.

Kennedy estimates damages at $150,000 and says the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
