PRINCE GEORGE—Over 400 students from School District 57’s Van Bien and Westwood elementary schools will be taking the advice we were given as kids and will be listening and spending time with elders as part of the Elders Outdoor Education Camp May 16th and 17th.

“This event supports the School District No. 57 Strategic Plan goals to increase participation and experiences of land-based learning for all students and to increase awareness and commitment of environmental sustainability with the use of traditional environmental knowledge for all students,” said Vanessa Elton, Environmental Education & First People’s Principles of Learning Resource Teacher for School District No. 57 in a press release.

Some of the local elders attending include, CNC instructor Bruce Allan, Brenda Nome, Doris Prince and Theresa Nelson.
