Opatcho Lake fire under control

PRINCE GEORGE — Good news from the BC Wildfire Service as they confirm the Opatcho Lake fire is under control.

The fire – located about 20 kilometres east of the intersection of Highway 97 and Buckhorn Lake Road – broke out Monday and grew to eight hectares.

The Prince George Fire Centre attribute its success to a number of factors including a quick wildfire response and favourable weather conditions, including yesterday’s rainfall.
