PRINCE GEORGE — Alex Mackenzie wanted to leave his job at Canfor about three years before he actually did. The reason? Travel the country and try to make it as a full-time stand-up comedian, not something you’d think a young adult making six figures would do.

He’s had a number of gigs so far and lined up a few festivals in the summer, and is hoping to fulfill a 12-year plan to get his own network special. Mackenzie is currently a “middle” for his shows, meaning he gets around half an hour for his set.

Alex just hopes to be able to inspire others to follow their dreams. His journey is being documented through his brand An Experiment Called Life via all social media platforms.
