Weather conditions helping prevent wildfires this summer

PRINCE GEORGE— Environment Canada predicted Prince George would have another hot and dry summer. However, that prediction has been slightly off.
Prince George has seen rainy conditions and hasn’t had overly high temperatures, helping prevent wildfires.
“Based on how busy we were the last two years, we were definitely ramped up and prepared for another busy season. When you look at the ten year average, we’re kind of aligned with that. In a long-term historical perspective, we’re not that abnormal,” Prince George Fire Centre Information Officer Forrest Tower says.
