Tourism industry is evolving

PRINCE GEORGE – Destination Tourism is the new focus.
That was the message at the Northern BC Tourism Summit, underway in the city right now.
“When we start to talk about destination development, we’re looking at a wide range of partners,” explains Clint Fraser, CEO of Northern BC Tourism. “So we talk often about provincial governments, local governments, regional governments but also tourism operators.”
But Northern BC has a unique set of challenges. Something as simple as the lack of internet access in many parts of the region is huge and, in some cases, act as a deterrent.
