Emergency landing safely executed at Prince George Airport

Saturday morning a WestJet flight departing from Prince George was forced to return to YXS.

At approximately 10:53 a.m., the Prince George Airport received notice that an outbound WestJet aircraft had declared an emergency and would be returning to the PG airport.

The emergency landing was properly executed.

Airport rescue and firefighters were on the scene right away.

They were then joined by British Columbia Ambulance Service, RCMP, and local firefighters.

The plane landed at 11:12 a.m. without issue and passengers were deplaned safely without incident.

At this time the reason for the emergency landing has not yet been revealed.
