Expanding youth curling in Prince George

Feb 10, 2020 | 2:46 PM

PRINCE GEORGE – Prince George is hosting the World Women’s Curling Championship and it happens to fall in the same year that curling turns 100-years-old in Prince George.

With that the Learn to Curl program is encouraging to get more youth involved in the sport, to continue to expand the game, hoping to make it another hundred years.

Since the Learn to Curl program started in December there have been 60 sessions, visiting 17 schools, and teaching more than 1,500 students within School District 57.

The students are taught the basics of curling, introducing them to a new sport and hopefully getting them involved in youth leagues.
