PRINCE GEORGE–After 20 years of working at the Two Rivers Gallery, Carolyn Holmes is leaving.

Holmes served as the executive director for four-and-a half years, of her two decades at the gallery. And now her future is taking her south, to Vancouver Island, as executive director at Nanaimo Art Gallery.

“Two Rivers Gallery has been such an important part of my life for more than two decades. I am so proud of all the work I have accomplished at the Gallery and have enjoyed growing with the organization.”—Carolyn Holmes

During her time at the Gallery Holmes developed an educational department and built a team that has been recognized nationally. Under her direction the Two Rivers Gallery has created a substantial outreach program, a maker space, MakerLab Youth Immersion for vulnerable youth, a vibrant studio program and a number of large annual public events.

The Gallery also saw the introduction to admission by donation, as well as a complimentary admission for anyone identifying as Indigenous.

“The Gallery will always hold a special place in my heart and I look forward to watching it thrive under the direction of the amazing team guiding its progress.”—Carolyn Holmes

The search for the next executive director is being planned.
