Prince George resident wins $100,000 Lotto Max prize, plans to buy new car

PRINCE GEORGE — A Prince George resident is driving away with a major lottery win after claiming a $100,000 MAXPLUS prize from the October 13, 2026 Lotto Max draw.

Thomas D. said he discovered his winning ticket while out grocery shopping, turning an ordinary day into an unforgettable one.

“I self-scanned and then the employee scanned [the ticket],” Thomas recalled. “I am buying a new car which I picked out the day before I won and thought, ‘hey, my car is free!’”

The Prince George resident said the first person he shared the news with was his friend, Daryl, who has been helping him with the purchase of the vehicle.

Asked how it feels to win, Thomas described the experience as “exhilarating.”

“It’s a dream come true,” he said. “I’m buying a car and being happy, enjoying life.”

According to BCLC, the winning ticket was purchased and validated at Save-On-Foods in Spruceland Mall on Central Street West in Prince George.

Lotto Max draws include multiple MAXPLUS prizes worth $100,000 each. The lottery adds one $100,000 prize for every $1 million available in the main jackpot.

Thomas now plans to use his windfall to purchase the vehicle he had already selected before learning of his big win.
