PRINCE GEORGE — Two occupants of a plane are lucky to be alive after the plane they were in flipped at Prince George Airport this morning.

“At approximately 9 a.m., a small aircraft on approach experienced some mechanical difficulties and then had a runway excursion and ended upside down just off the runway,” says YXS President and CEO Gordon Duke.

“There was two people on board. Our emergency response team responded with the protocols we have in place. The team was on site pretty quickly. The two on board were a little shaken up and both have been transported to hospital.”

He says both suffered minor injuries. He adds there will be an investigation into the incident noting the Transportation Safety Board has been advised as has the Transport Canada Operations Centre.
