PRINCE GEORGE – Have you seen it? A new mural is attracting a lot of attention on social media because of how interactive it is.

“The more interactive the art is, the more attention it will get,” says the artist who created the piece Fresco. “I’ve already seen over 100 people come up here and take pictures with it.”

The local arts community is pleased with the piece and wants to see more like it on the horizon.

George Harris, Curator and Artistic Director at Two Rivers Gallery says it’s encouraging to see businesses getting involved in the art scene.

“I think whenever you have an opportunity to add public art to your community it’s fantastic,” says Harris. “I’d love to see a lot more of it in Prince George.”

After more than 40 hours of hard work, countless cans of aerosol sprays, and a flatbed, you can visit the newfound photo attraction tucked on the side of the BX pub off of 5th avenue.

This creation is not graffiti, it’s what Fresco calls aerosol art.

Fresco says the piece is the first of its kind in Prince George and hopes to make many more interactive pieces in the future.

“It’s about finding the places that could use a little bit of sprucing up,” says Fresco.

The artist says it can be tricky for getting access to the spots that could use a mural or a painting the most, he says grants and more funding is needed because sometimes businesses just don’t have the budget to finance such projects.

Fresco says if you are interested in having your own mural for your home or business you can reach out to him through his Instagram page.
