QUESNEL–Full driver doors are coming to BC Transit buses in Quesnel and Dawson Creek to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Retrofits to buses in the Quesnel Transit System System will get underway in the coming days, followed by retrofits to the Dawson Creek Transit System.

“While the installation process is taking place, passengers will experience no impact to service levels.”–Release by BC Transit

The full driver door is a moveable barrier situated to the right of the driver’s seat near the farebox. It includes a transparent piece of laminated tempered glass with an anti-glare coating and a metal base.

Installations will be carried out over a two day period. The new doors will replace the current vinyl panels installed as protective barriers in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. 633 buses will be retrofitted with full driver doors across 34 transit-systems in the province by early November. New buses will come with the door pre-installed.
