Trick or Treat safely

“For those who choose to trick-or-treat, follow public health guidelines to ensure you, your family, and your community stays safe,” adds Galanis. “Try to keep things outdoors if you can and stay in your local neighbourhood, ensuring adequate space between you and others throughout the night. If the porch lights are off, respect the homeowner by staying away.”

For those expecting a knock at the door, the Centre recommends wearing a mask and, perhaps, taking some measures to ensure you can maintain six feet between yourself and that ghost or goblin.

CKPG, in conjunction with Northland Nissan, will be hosting a drive-by Halloween, with kiosks set up in the Prince George Native Friendship Centre parking lot from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow to hand out goodies.

“We’re going to have over a dozen tents down in the parking lot and make sure that anytime a parent rolls around with their child in the back seat, they just have to roll the windows down and the child just has to hold out the candy knapsack, say ‘Trick or Treat’ and they’re guaranteed to get a whole bunch of stuff.”

And, of course, there are the usual, not-COVID-related safety measures: Wear bright colours as it will be dark, be mindful of traffic and check your candy before you eat it.
