PRINCE GEORGE — Residents are invited to usher in the holiday season as the City of Prince George hosts its Annual Civic Light Up on Friday, Nov. 27.

This year’s celebration will feature a new attraction for the first time in the event’s 31-year history: a synchronized aerial drone show presented by Drone Light Show Canada.

Festivities will take place at Canada Games Plaza beginning at 4 p.m., with the official Civic Light Up ceremony scheduled for 6 p.m.

The family-friendly event will include visits with Santa, horse-drawn wagon rides, free skating, face painting, holiday markets and live entertainment. Complimentary hot chocolate and festive treats will also be available for attendees.

Mayor Garth Frizzell said the annual event continues to be an important community tradition that brings residents together during the holiday season.

“Civic Light Up is a wonderful opportunity for residents to come together and celebrate the spirit of the season,” said Frizzell. “We are grateful to the many community partners whose support helps make this cherished event possible year after year.”

The annual celebration marks the start of the festive season in Prince George and is expected to draw families from across the community for an evening of lights, entertainment and holiday cheer.
