PRINCE GEORGE–Local RCMP are investigating after a pedestrian-involved motor vehicle incident this past weekend.

At around 7:40 p.m. on November 7, RCMP received a report from paramedics saying that a person had been struck by a vehicle on 5th Ave. near Ruggles St. in Prince George.

When RCMP arrived they discovered an adult male pedestrian receiving medical treatment. He was transported to hospital for further treatment of serious injuries.

“Police would like to remind pedestrians to be extra cautious, wear reflective clothing and utilize well-lit crosswalks. Drivers are reminded to always expect pedestrians, especially after dark.”–Release by, Prince George RCMP

RCMP say that they believe that the pedestrian, in dark clothing, listening to music with earphones, stepped out in front of a west-bound small SUV.

The adult male driver remained on scene, was cooperative with police, and did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol. RCMP say the investigation is continuing.
