Prince George powerlifter Tara Webber’s carry on luggage was a bit heavier when returning to the Northern Capital as she defended her World title two weeks ago and earned herself another Championship belt.

“Definitely felt a little more pressure going into this one rather than others in the past,” explained Webber to CKPG.

“I just had to focus on doing what I do on any other day.”

It was a tough competition for Webber though as she was unable to hit any personal bests at the Superfinals, but it was also tough for the rest of the field.

Webber got just one of her squats in at 705, but some of her competitors were unable to get any of their squats in which resulted in Webber jumping out to a lead going into bench press and deadlift.

Overall, Webber is thrilled to bring another World title back to the City of Prince George and now has her sites on a three-peat.

“I think I would really like to it a 3rd time,” added Webber.

“The other winner at the meet, Dave Hoff said two means it wasn’t a fluke and three means there is some pattern. So I think I would really like to go for a third.”
