Reimagined Shoot for the Cure serves as boost in team morale for Timberwolves
PRINCE GEORGE – Normally, the UNBC women’s basketball team would wear their pink uniforms during breast cancer awareness week for USports’ Shoot for the Cure. However, this year, with USports seasons cancelled as a result of the pandemic, the Timberwolves felt like they needed to find an alternative.
“We decided that this week we were going to wear pink, specifically today (Monday). We all got to wear our prink jerseys and worse them for practice. It’s just an extra special little something that we can do.”
With wearing their pink jerseys, the evening also marked the first time, and perhaps the only time this year the Timberwolves will get to wear their uniforms. But the Timberwolves admit, it was something they all needed.
