Fatal crash on Highway 16 at Beaverly

PRINCE GEORGE —Update: Local Mounties have provided more details into today’s fatal crash in Beaverly. Police say a full size pick-up left the highway and rolled, coming to a rest on its roof. The adult male occupant could not be revived by paramedics and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police would like to thank bystanders that witnessed the crash and stopped to assist along with the Beaverly Volunteer Fire Department for their help.

Update: The road has been cleared according to Drive BC.

Update: The highway has now reopened to single-lane alternating traffic.

Paramedics injured after object thrown through ambulance window

Earlier: RCMP say one person is dead following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 16 at Beaverly.

The crash occurred between Hooper Road and Carmel Drive. RCMP say they received the crash report at 8:50 a.m.

Emergency crews are on scene and the crash has closed the highway in both directions.

A detour is not available.
