Specially Trained Avalanche Team Based In the North Rockies.

PRINCE GEORGE – It’s the first full winter season that Avalanche Canada will have a specially trained backcountry team in the North Rockies collecting critical information to forecast avalanche risk.

The recently formed avalanche snow team continues to dig snow pits throughout the northern Rockies, observing and performing stability tests on the snow in some of the most popular backcountry areas.

There are five teams across the country, three are based in BC. Avalanche Canada would like to see backcountry enthusiasts continue to send in their backcountry observations.
