Lheidli T’enneh elect new chief

PRINCE GEORGE — Dolleen Logan is the newly elected chief of the Lheidli T’enneh.

Logan, a former councillor, takes over from former chief Clay Pountney. She also beat out a third candidate, Jason Gillis, in Thursday’s election.

Preliminary results show Logan was elected with 151 votes. Five councillors were also elected, including former chief Dominic Frederick. The others include Helen Buzas, Marcel Gagnon, Crystal Gibbs and Joshua Seymour.

Lheidli voters also elected three members to the Lands Authority Committee. They include Rena Zatorski, Elaine Gagnon and Wendy Jael.

All of the above were elected to two-year terms. The results are expected to be finalized later today.
