Questions around vaccine eligibility

Prince George – There are questions surrounding the vaccine when it comes to non-permanent residents in B.C.. Some worry they may not be able to get vaccinated if they aren’t from the Province.

If you are living in B.C. during the pandemic you are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. You do not need a BC Services card or public health number to get the vaccine.

You do not need to be a Canadian citizen or have permanent residency. However, you do need a health care number and you need to provide proof that you are currently living in the province.

This means you can be a visitor from another province or country who is living in B.C. temporarily. This includes international students or parents visiting from another country. There are exceptions for unique circumstances, for more information, head to the B.C. immunization website.
