PRINCE GEORGE — Local Mounties are now confirming Saturday’s suspicious death outside a home on the 1100 block of PG Pulpmill Road was the city’s third homicide of the year.

Prince George RCMP Cst. Jennifer Cooper says officers arrived on scene just before 5 a.m. for a report of a disturbance of an unknown nature.

When frontline officers arrived on the scene, they found one person deceased. Police believe this to be an isolated event and there is no risk to the public.

This investigation is in the early stages and police aren’t releasing any more information at this time.

The two previous homicides occurred back in January. The first on January 1 on the 2800 block of 15th Avenue when they discovered the lifeless body of a 50-year-old man.

The second homicide occurred on Jan. 28. On that day, police responded to a call of a man in medical distress on the 8200 block of Domano at around 8 a.m. who later died in hospital.
