873 new cases of COVID-19 in B.C., 28 in the Northern Health region

VICTORIA — The provincial government is reporting 873 new cases of COVID-19 in B.C., over the past 24-hours, 28 in the Northern Health region.

There are over 9700 active cases of the virus with 377 people in hospital, 116 of whom are in intensive care.

There are currently 5,221 confirmed COVID-19 cases that are variants of concern in our province. Of the total cases, 258 are active and the remaining people have recovered.

Due to a delay in the Public Health Reporting Data Warehouse (PHRDW) lab system, the provincial govrernment says these numbers are preliminary and may be adjusted once confirmed with PHRDW data.
