Inspiring Youth to Climate Action Project

Apr 13, 2021 | 4:05 PM

Prince George – The Exploration Place made a huge announcement over the weekend. Together with the Discovery Centre in Halifax, Science North in Sudbury, and the Canadian Association of Science Centres, they received a $6 million grant to fund the Youth to Climate Action Project.

This project is being funded by Environment Canada through the $38 million Climate Action and Awareness Fund, which has been set up to support projects like this one all across the country.

The Exploration Place was approached as a partner for this project because of their strong partnership with the Lheidli T’enneh Nation and their outreach work across Northern British Columbia. But don’t get too excited Prince George, nowhere near $6 million is coming here.
