Old Transit plan new again
PRINCE GEORGE – A transit plan that was set to kick in September 2020, but had to be placed on hold, is back on the front burner. Essentially, with students set to head back to in-person classes in September, the City can dust off those old plans.
“We’re looking at bringing our service hours back up to pre-COVID levels and putting back our services to the university and the college,” explains Michael Coulson, Transit Planner for the City.
He says, depending on the pandemic, the City plans to introduce an express route between the student housing in the downtown and the university and college. Also, in the short term, BC Transit is hoping to introduce an express route between Pine Centre Mall and the downtown via the Spruceland Shopping Mall exchange.
