PRINCE GEORGE — There could be temporary traffic delays on First Avenue for the next 10 days.

The City of Prince George will begin a maintenance operation on the water system on First Avenue – replacing specific hydrants along the road to ensure they perform as necessary – starting Monday (April 26) and lasting until May 5.

Construction will occur from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day and water service could be disrupted between April 26 and 28. There will be  some excavation at each site, and each site will be repaved at the end of the project.

The project could result in temporary traffic delays in the area of First Avenue near the intersections of Kingston Street, Queensway, Ottawa Street, Ontario Street, and Lower Patricia Boulevard.
