COVID-19 outbreak at BC Hydro Site C project

SPRINCE GEORGE–Northern Health Public Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at the BC Hydro Site C hydroelectric dam project, located in Northeast B.C.

There are 13 active cases, two of the most recent and active clusters involve employees from the Peace River Hydro Partners.

To date, there have been 34 confirmed cases among five clusters.

NH Public Health says all employees are continuously being screened and those who have been in close contact are self-isolating.

The outbreak declaration is active for at least 28 days. Officials say there’s no need to shut down the worksite.
