Artists’ submissions must include the following:

* Letter of Introduction including your Indigenous affiliation and your contact information (telephone #, email address and address)

* Artist’s biography (max. 150 words) * CV or Resume / Website (if applicable)

* Up to 3 submissions of original artwork or design concepts(designs must be reversable for both sides). If submitting via email, submissions are to be in a jpeg or other stable, accessible format.

* An image list including (title, materials, dimensions, year created)

* Artist statement for each submission (max. 250 words)

Selection will be based on the following criteria:

* Artistic excellence based on submissions

* Indigenous ancestry

* Viability of developing high-quality images required for final fabrication – minimal digital image to scale at 300 dpi or a vector file

* Ability to meet the project timeline Selected Artists Will:

* Work with the Northern Indigenous Arts Council to finalize the rendering of their chosen design

* With the support of NIAC, artists will work with Diversified Transportation Ltd., to build out the final design adhering to specifications for fabrication and application

* Sign an intellectual property use agreement for up to a 3 -year term

* Receive an artist fee of $4000.00 for their finalized design which may be used on both side panels of up to 2 buses

Project Timeline:

* Deadline for Submissions – 5 pm May 7th, 2021

* Selected Artists contacted and sign agreement – May 21st, 2021

* Artists work with NIAC and BC Bus North to sign agreements and develop final design – May 21st – June 21st, 2021

* Deadline for final designs – June 21st, 2021

* Final designs delivered to Diversified Transportation Ltd. – June 28th, 2021
