PRINCE GEORGE – Wendy Ord had never been to Prince George prior to her visit for ‘The Way to The Heart’, but now she says her love affair with the city and region is already in full swing.

“I’ve never been to Prince George before, and it’s been so fun, we’ve spent the last three days running around seeing everything Prince George has to offer,” says Ord. “Every place we’ve gone has been beautiful, but we’re really looking for the gems for this movie.”

There is a unique local tie that helped bring her here as well, being friends with former Prince George Film Commissioner, Sara Shaak.

Ord said they had been talking about doing a movie in PG for a number of years, and seeing that come into reality makes it extra special.

Ord has previously won a Canadian Screen Award, and a Directors Guild of Canada Award with seven previous Director credits according to IMDB.

Norm Coyne, Producer of the film says he and Ord have been scouting out locations in the past couple of days, with many different spots than the previous film.

This feature will build on all of the experience the local crew members received from ‘A Great North Christmas’, valuable time which Coyne says will only make that group better.

Coyne also says the fact that this film is already in pre-production only months after the last one says a lot about the momentum the industry is gaining in Prince George and Northern BC.
