PRINCE GEORGE – A big announcement out of Tourism Prince George. In a news release sent out this morning, it states that CEO, Tracey McBride, will be stepping down.

The letter reads:

It is with regret the Board of Directors and staff of Tourism Prince George announce the resignation of the CEO, Tracey McBride. Due to personal and family considerations for the future, Tracey will be leaving Tourism Prince George at the end of June.

“It was a difficult decision, as the Board, the staff at Tourism Prince George and the people of Prince George have been incredible during these crazy, unprecedented times,” said McBride. “It has been a challenging but very rewarding experience with the warmth of the people and business community of Prince George. Tourism Prince George has grown and implemented an impressive re-branding, a revised five-year strategy with forward-thinking, databased recommendations and created momentum for community engagement on future tactics. This positions the city of Prince George for some great opportunities post-pandemic.”

“The strength of Prince George is in the collaboration, partnerships and innovation along with the diverse community that rolls up their sleeves to get ideas moving forward and gain traction. I will never forget the spirit of the community. However, I have had to review some of my family’s realities during this time and make some decisions that best align with those needs for the future,” said Tracey McBride.

“Tracey joined Tourism Prince George prior to the pandemic and has steered the organization and staff through some very challenging times with professionalism, compassion and strength,” said Paul Robison, Chair of Tourism Prince George. “She has increased our organizational capacity with new energy, creativity and processes that have positioned Tourism Prince George well for the future.”

CKPG News says so long Tracey, thank you for all your hard work and good luck in the future.
