PRINCE GEORGE–This Sunday will be the 34th annual Manulife Heart and Stroke Ride for Heart event where you can help raise money for heart and stroke researching by completing a heart shaped route.

You can walk, bike, or run your route. The event even has an app called “Share Your Heart” that helps you map out a route.

This year is especially special for local MLA Shirley Bond.

Last year, her husband Bill Bond, passed away due to heart conditions and ultimately a stroke. The event takes place exactly one year later after his death on June 6th.

“In honor of Bill, we know that this was so very important to him, so I’m very grateful for the people that have already donated to him and I’m so thankful that there are organizations like Heart and Stroke.” said Bond.

Her team–Team Bond–is hoping to raise $14,000 for heart and stroke research. She says that she’s already about 80% of the way there.
