PRINCE GEORGE – Fans of Prince George hockey have heard the name before.

The Prince George Cougars have acquired 2002-born goaltender Jordan Fairlie from the Swift Current Broncos, the team announced today.

In exchange, the Cougars have sent goaltender 2002-born goaltender Jacob Herman to the Broncos.

Fairlie, 18, spent the 2020-21 season with the Prince George Spruce Kings in the BC Hockey League.

In seven games, the netminder posted a 5-2-0-0 record, to go along with a 2.16 goals-against average (GAA) and .907 save percentage. He also had two shutouts.

The 6’2”, 170-pound netminder played the 2019-20 season with the Cariboo Cougars at the BC Under-18 AAA level. In 18 games he posted a 10-7-1 record and had a 2.47 GAA. Fairlie signed with the Broncos in the summer of 2018 and appeared in one WHL regular season game during the 2019-20 season.

The Cougars do still have three goalies listed on their roster in Taylor Gauthier, Tyler Brennan, and Ty Young.

Early indications have Fairlie returning to the Spruce Kings for the 2021-22 season.
