PRINCE GEORGE – The College of New Caledonia is celebrating one of its largest graduating classes at a virtual ceremony on Saturday.

Jacob Mamic enrolled in the dental hygiene program at CNC after years of braces transformed his smile. Although this year was a lot harder, he is happy to be done.

“Graduating, my proudest moment for sure. I did well even though there were a lot of challenges.” Said Mamic.

Students were able to pick up a graduate’s package and take some photos on campus before the online ceremony.

“It means a lot to be with my friends and classmates. We enjoyed taking photos and putting the cap on, being together on campus again.” Continued Mamic.

Each student out of the 490 that registered, will get a personalized slide featuring their name, photo, and any other messages. In total there are over a thousand graduating students in the CNC graduating class of 2021.

“We believe that this is one of the largest graduating classes that we’ve had. Those numbers even for a virtual convocation are 150 more than we would normally have.” Said Vice President of Student Affairs at CNC, Shelley Carter-Rose.

The virtual convocation premieres at 11:00AM on Saturday on cnc.bc.ca/convocation. The community is also invited to use the hashtag #cncgrad2021 on Instagram and Twitter to have photos and messages features on the CNC Convocation Tweet Wall.
