PRINCE GEORGE – There is a new optometry clinic open downtown Prince George.

True North Optometry opened their doors on 5th avenue on Wednesday with plenty of local flavour as well.

Dr. Vincent Budac who was born and raised in PG opened the practice along with his wife Emily from Ontario.

Budac only left the city to attend school for optometry at Waterloo, now he’s back to serve the community.

The clinic is currently taking patients, and Budac says eye care in BC’s Northern Capital has been in high demand.

“We’re just so grateful to be opening here in Prince George,” said Budac.

The clinic offers the general adult and child eye exams, but also offers vision therapy.

Vision therapy is a personalized curriculum of activities done in-office and at home to develop, regain, or enhance these visual abilities.

Dr. Vince can identify learning related visual problems that can have a significant impact on school performance as well as more apparent visual dysfunctions like crossed eyes (strabismus), lazy eye (amblyopia), eyestrain and double vision. In addition, Dr. Vince provides Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation and Sports Vision Therapy.
