PRINCE GEORGE — Anyone out and about in the City of Prince George early Saturday (June 26) evening experienced a record high temperature.
According to Environment Canada, Prince George reached a new record high for June 26 at 5 p.m., sitting at 32.2 degrees Celsius. The old mark of 31.5 degrees Celsius set in 1992 was actually broken an hour earlier at 4 p.m. with a temperature of 32.1 degrees.
Future daily records are expected to be broken as the “heat dome” could see Prince George reach a projected high of 40 degrees Celsius on Monday (June 28).
For Sunday (June 27), the projected daily high is 37 degrees Celsius at 5 p.m., which would shatter the previous record of 28.5 degrees set in 1992.
