CO’s find traps un’bear’able during the heatwave
PRINCE GEORGE – The sweltering heat has created a challenge for the Conservation Officer Service. The heat limits their ability to use live steel bear traps. As there is a concern, it might harm the animal.
Food attractants continue to be the number one reason bears wander neighbourhoods. When they become a problem, one of the solutions is capturing the bear live inside the steel trap.
The CO service continues to be busy with wildlife animal complaints mainly because of attractant issues throughout the city of Prince George, a problem far from new.
