Cooling and air appliances flying off shelves due to outdoor conditions
PRINCE GEORGE–The recent high temperatures and now the smokey skies from wildfires has driven up demands for fans, air conditioners, and now air purifiers. Which has become a struggle for stores, leaving many customers empty-handed.
“First it was ACs, then it was 159 fans in one day, and now a few air purifiers. We were answering phone calls yesterday and last week. Like 200 phone calls a day ‘do you have fans?’, ‘do you have ACs?’, and now it’ll be ‘Do you have purifiers?’ ” said Richard Bundock, Store Manager, Central Buildings Home Hardware.
Across the city, many stores are in the same situation: a lot of demand and not enough supply.
