PRINCE GEORGE–Prince George Pride and the PG Queer Cafe hosted a Rainbow Cruise on saturday to end off Pride Week.Hannah Wingerter .Summer Student, Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church ***

To celebrate, people were asked to decorate their cars and to take pictures at 13 different locations for the chance to win prizes.

There were also places throughout the city where drivers could go and take part in different activity stations. One of those stations was at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. People could take part in hand prints.

The prints are going to be part of a mural that the church is installing in the next few weeks to show the public that it is a safe space for members of the pride community.

“Me being a part of the queer community, I find this such a huge step for Prince George to be taking and for churches all over Canada to be taking. We hope that this inspires other churches to step up and show that they’re a safe space and yeah we just hope that this makes a difference in the community and that people just feel more safe in Prince George.” Hannah Wingerter .Summer Student, Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church
