COVID-19 NUMBERS GET WORSE

COVID-19 numbers continuing to grow in B.C. with 464 new cases being reported.

PRINCE GEORGE – The province of B.C. is reporting that their are 464 new cases of COVID-19 bringing the active total number of cases to 2,411.

There are 29 more people affected by the virus in the Northern Health region bringing their active case total to 88.

The other new/active cases include:

  • 72 new cases in Fraser Health
    • Total active cases: 486
  • 60 new cases in Vancouver Coastal Health
    • Total active cases: 324
  • 275 new cases in Interior Health
    • Total active cases: 1,356
  • 29 new cases in Northern Health
    • Total active cases: 88
  • 27 new cases in Island Health
    • Total active cases: 145
  • one new case of a person who resides outside of Canada
    • Total active cases: 12

Of the active cases, 52 individuals are in the hospital while 24 are in intensive care. The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation. There have been no new deaths in the past 24 hours.

As for vaccinations, 81.8% of eligible people that are 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine while 68.9% have received their second dose.
