“They’re going to be completing different challenges, they’re going to be solving challenges at each park. To earn the next clue, so yeah getting lost and discovering some of the amazing park that Prince George has,” said Laurie Dillman, Chair for ConnectPG.

Each park had different challenges to take on. Connaught hill park had potato sack races and bean bag tosses. Rainbow park had water pong, the CN Centre had horse racing, and other parks had challenges like scavenger hunting and kite making.

Each team had its own designated route and each park was supervised by a different organization in the community such as Big Brothers and Sisters of Northern BC, and the French Canadian Association of Prince George.

“It’s a race to discover all the parks in Prince George and many communities like us, so people are coming to race and to have some fun with us and just to learn a bit of us also. After that we give them a clue for the next park and that’s it. It’s a beautiful day for fun.” said Sarah Maurice, Executive Director for Le Cercle Des Canadiens Français De Prince George

This year connect PG had special prizes waiting for the winners.

“The Prince George Agriculture and Historical Association has generously donated two, four-day passes for the exhibition next weekend.” said Dillman.

ConnectPG plan on having this race next year.
